I don't run Velvetheart because it looks good on a corporate resume. I run it because I am a mother, a media CEO, and a survivor of sexual assault. I know what abuse is, and I know the exact toll it takes on a human life.
The Front Lines
I have already watched what happens when tech outpaces the law.
I took that survival instinct to the front lines of the early internet. At MySpace, I worked directly with law enforcement to hunt predators in an unregulated digital wild west. I watched grown men on my team break down over what we had to witness.
We failed to govern social media before it launched, and our children paid the price. The lawsuits filed against social media giants in the past two years are the bill coming due — fifteen years late.

The Ultimatum

Two. We demand an independent governing body to force foundational child-safety protocols into the core code of all AI.
I survived the worst of reality so I could dictate the rules of the future.
